DeKALB – While the recession has led to unprecedented levels of unemployment, one engineering firm in DeKalb is trying to repurpose laid-off workers into entrepreneurs.

Wendler Geospatial is at the forefront of the ever-changing Geospatial Technologies market with our broad range of services including: Geospatial Services, Photogrammetric Services, Base Mapping and Cartography and GPS Tracking. These services coupled with our Structural and Civil Engineering, Surveying, Land Planning and Environmental Services enable Wendler to provide our customers with a full range of services that is not normally available within a single company. Our departments work efficiently with one another enabling us to pass the savings on to you.

Wendler was awarded a Merit Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies for the Heritage Crossing Riverfront Plaza in Dixon, Illinois.

This federally funded project includes a river-front plaza area with multi-use paths along the south bank of the Rock River in the downtown area. Work included construction of a concrete bicycle/pedestrian path along the river's edge and a downtown park space.   Access ramps, stairs, and seating areas are provided throughout the plan to facilitate disabled/pedestrian/bicycle traffic movements to and from the lower path level to the street.

On Tuesday, October 27^th, Wendler representatives attended the dedication ceremony of the Interpretive Gazebo located on the historic Illinois Lincoln Highway in DeKalb, Illinois.
